THE IMPACT OF SITUATIONAL LEADERSHIP ON MANAGEMENT EFFECTIVENESS

This research investigates the impact of situational leadership on management effectiveness. Objectives are: (1) to assess the adaptability of situational leadership to various management scenarios, (2) to analyze its impact on team performance and morale, and (3) to identify key situational leadership practices that enhance management effectiveness. A survey design is chosen for its ability to provide quantitative insights from numerous respondents. Using Taro Yamane's formula, the sample size is 340, ensuring accuracy and reliability. The study focuses on the banking sector in Lagos, Nigeria, where flexibility in leadership is critical. The reliability coefficient score is 0.86, indicating consistent results. Findings reveal that situational leadership significantly enhances management effectiveness by allowing leaders to adapt their style to different situations. Recommendations include training managers in situational leadership techniques to improve adaptability and effectiveness in diverse management scenarios.
